Elder Reeds
The Elder Reed has been specifically designed to provide a broad, rounded and fully harmonic sound in both sheep skin and synthetic pipe bags without a crowy high A.
Here at Elder reeds we know first hand how difficult it can be to find reeds that can withstand long and demanding practice sessions. This task can be even more difficult in synthetic bag set ups where the reed has to be able to withstand a lot more moisture and connecting a chanter tube is not always preferred. After months of rigorous testing, playing and performance time by me and a few great players at the forefront of todays piping, we found the reeds held the course well. All the recordings on the site are in synthetic set ups, go grab an earful.
Reed Features
Style: Straight cut
Staple: Rolled copper seam
